The suite is quiet, bright, well-equipped and comfortable. It has great views and is well situated very near to Commercial Drive with easy access to all parts of the city. We love Diana and Simonne and the ambience of their house. Ken and Marcia, Saskatoon
We had a wonderful time staying a week in the suite! We greatly appreciated the location in the heart of Commercial Drive area (many good and funky shops as well as restaurants and bars). The terrace offers a view on downtown Vancouver and it is very spacious. Not to be missed! The suite is well organized and everything runs great.
Thanks Diana and Simone for making us feel at home! Fanny & Didier
We were here last September and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The suite is thoughtfully decorated and the cheery colors welcoming. We felt like we had our own private aerie, with great views of the city and surroundings. We enjoyed spending our mornings with tea on the deck. We also liked walking to/from the Commercial Street area. We found the kitchen very well equipped. It is a quiet, restful place, very comfortable and just what we were hoping for. If we get back to Vancouver, we would definitely like to stay here again. Diana recommended a great Italian market/deli that is nearby and we wish we could have brought that home with us! Thanks, Diana!
Great location and perfect accommodation for a few days or longer. It is fully equipped and dining in the suite or going out in the neighbourhood or area are wonderful alternatives. Will definitely be returning to enjoy more of the Vancouver hospitality provided by Simonne and Diana.
I have stayed here several times and often wish they would just let me move it! The hosts are wonderful and knowledgeable about Vancouver and the accomodations are excellent; comfortable beds, a great kitchen space and great views of the mountains and the city. I highly recommend this suite!
Stayed her for 7 nights in May. Such a great suite, very comfortable and quiet and has a nice 'vibe' about it. It's a minute from Commerical Drive which is a great area of Vancouver to stay; great shops and cafes/restaurants. Would highly recommend! Vikki
We stayed there 10 days in July and it was fantastic! The Parker Street Penthouse is clean, well-furnished and quiet. Such a great place to unwind at the end of a busy day sightseeing in Vancouver! The kitchen and bathroom were very well furnished and allowed us to feel at home. Close to the Driver with great delis and stores. Thanks for a great place, Diana. Susan and Mike from Toronto
We were pleasantly surprised when we first saw the location of the suite. It is located just a two minute walk from Commercial Drive. We were close enough to have access to coffee shops, all kinds of ethnic cuisine and public transportation, yet in a quiet safe neighborhood with plenty of parking when we had a car available. The room itself is an open room the size of the whole third floor with separate kitchen and bathroom. From the front windows, we had an unobstructed view of the mountains and downtown and from the large balcony/deck with patio table we had an equally expansive view of the southern skyline; weather permitting, this was an idyllic spot for an afternoon break. Ample couches for lounging, a sturdy bed, practical kitchen accessories, and a clean uncluttered environment helped to make our stay as relaxed and problem-free as we had wanted. TV and WiFi rounded out the picture and helped us to feel at home. We recommend this suite to anyone who wants to stay in a comfortable, clean and practical lodging with courteous, discreet and friendly owners who live in the same house and are willing to share advise and information.
We stayed here for a week and just loved it! The suite was in a great neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The views from the front window and the back patio were great. The suite had everything we needed in the kitchen and it just felt so cozy and inviting. It was a wonderful place to stay and the owners made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend this suite to anyone and I hope that we can come back and stay on our next trip to Vancouver.
We always enjoy staying in the Penthouse Suite. It is a very pleasant space to be in and has lots of room for us and our stuff. There is lots of light and wonderful views. Affordable and easy access accommodation. High quality linen and cutlery etc. Nice book collection. Hospitable and friendly hosts.
We booked the Penthouse Suite on line and were delighted with the accomodation when we arrived on March 8th. We have recommended the suite to our family and friends who live here in Vancouver as an ideal spot to book for their out-of-town visitors.
...began when I arrived at 1850 Parker Street, fresh from my cross-continental flights. As travel-tired as I was, I could still appreciate the brightness of the apartment, the incredible view (from what would become my 'workspace') of the mountains to the north and the harbor to the northwest, and the fabulous porch...which provided many relaxing hours of reading, gazing over the neighborhood tree-tops, and catching up on emails to family and friends. My friendly and attentive hosts, Diana and Simonne, cheerfully introduced me to some of the many amenities that would make my stay even more comfortable and enjoyable (hard to imagine!)...including the washer/dryer downstairs; the fabulous neighborhood bakery and eatery; tips on eating, shopping and other local events of interest; and their ready availability to answer any and all questions I might have. Needless to say, I highly recommend a stay in Vancouver--and in particular don't miss this neighborhood of Commercial Drive--and I wholeheartedly encourage any and all travelers to include 1850 Parker Street among your place to call "home" away from home.
We rented the apartment in late August and enjoyed our stay very much. The apartement is very charming with it's wooden floors, cozy furniture and plants in every room (and a tomato plant on the deck). When we arrived there was a vase with freshly cut flowers from Diana's and Simonne's wonderful garden on the table which made us feel at home the minute we opened the door. And of course the view of the mountains and of downtown from the deck is spectacular. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend the apartment to anyone who is searching for a holiday apartment in Vancouver.
Hi Diana, My friend Conn loved his three-month stay in your place; it was a home-away-from-home for him! The view of the mountains is spectacular, and the apartment is clean, bright, spacious and airy - along with that beautiful deck!! The location is perfect with groceries, post-office, library, liquor store, restaurants and public transit all a stone's throw away, and surrounded by a quiet residential neighbourhood. Also, you couldn't have been more helpful for him - he was very appreciative. I'll certainly be recommending your place to everyone who comes to visit me!! Very best wishes and thanks, Sandy
We really enjoyed our two-week stay in the Parker Street Penthouse. The suite was warm and cozy, the views spectacular and the hosts friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The location is great: near Commercial Drive and East Village shops and restaurants, with easy access to the transit system and to Vancouver’s network of biking streets and paths. In short order the suite became our home away from home. We plan to spend a month next winter. Judith from Saskatoon
We have just returned to Saskatchewan after spending the month of February in the Parker Street Penthouse. We could not have enjoyed our stay more! The suite is roomy, well furnished and bright and cheery, even on rainy days. The kitchen is well equipped and the living area was large enough that we could easily entertain family and friends, who all loved the cozy atmosphere. We had a car with us but hardly used it due to the convenient location which was within easy walking distance of markets, restaurants, shops and the Sky Train. A bonus was getting to know Diana and Simonne and their well-behaved dog, Maisie. We highly recommend this suite to anyone needing a place to stay in Vancouver and look forward to returning to this 'home away from home' as soon as possible. Ron & Mary-Jean
Great stay in this cozy, clean & bright self-contained suite with a beautiful view of the North Shore Mountains & Lions Gate Bridge. Excellent location for exploring the Drive with many foodie restaurants & specialty shops easily within walking distance. Lovely to sit out on the deck over a glass of wine & have dinner. The owner is very kind & helpful. Thank-you Diane for a very nice stay.
